The ECKD ‘close quarter’ syllabus is not designed to be a ‘one size fits all’ system.
ECKD techniques are proven to work in the majority of cases against an untrained attacker. In class
you may be shown variations to suit your personal abilities.
The weapon technique has been modified. After elbowing the attackers gun arm slide your arm
underneath or over the top (depending on your height) and clamp on top of your own hand on top of
the gun. Then rotate your body towards the attacker whilst turning the gun inward facing the attacker.
