Overall: Amazing job Danny! Fantastic syllabus knowledge, use of noise, sliding
back and very strong, high level counter attacks! I was very impressed to see a
step behind the kick. Your blocks were very fast and effective all the way up the
ranks. You missed your block on gold belt because you moved too quickly, next
time hold back until you can see which angle the attack is coming from (look down
the middle of the body to best see this!) - well done for carrying on your defence
despite this.
On your orange please note it’s the attacker that turns around, not the defender,
but you blocked the punch anyway which was fab! On your green belt you
demonstrated your step forward brilliantly and the attack to follow was also great.
Very smart uniforms and eloquently announcing each belt with your brother too!
Amazing job Danny keep it up!

Green Tag Test 28-3-20

Overall: Your grade was okay Danny! The vital moves were there but your takedowns weren’t great and there were a couple
of really important details missed. When you get to green belt and above the marking criteria gets stricter as you’re dealing
with more serious weapons like knives and glass bottles that can do serious damage to your body. Here’s my points for
improvement next time:
If your takedown isn’t working have a plan B! Pushing down on the back isn’t an effective takedown and is unlikely to work
in real life.
Don’t rush your punch and scratches, they’re very important and could be a fight finisher!
Keep your goose close to your chest and follow through all the way to the floor
Your elbow jerk needs a bit of work, the idea is your partner should end up bent to the side, and from there you can take a
leg or push on a joint to get them to the floor
I’d like to see more varied takedowns throughout your grade for example a head roll or a trip. If you’re going to go for the
simpler takedowns like the arm bar or the head push they need to be spot on.
I did however really enjoy your fab explanation and introduction at the start of the video, I applaud your confidence and
was impressed by your quick reaction times! Your main techniques were there and you didn’t deviate too far from the
syllabus. I’m going to pass you this time as I can see the hard work you’ve put in with your brother but when we’re back at
training I’d like you to focus on the points I’ve mentioned in preparation for your next blue tag grade, it’s all in the detail! Pil
