IL DAN Black Belt
Overall: Very nice Leo! As usual you’ve got great syllabus
knowledge and are very efficient with your blocks and
counter attacks. On your gold belt, gold senior and orange
senior I would’ve liked to see you block a wider array of
moves but I did see you use a forearm block on orange
which was very nice.
On your green you emphasised that step forward which
was great, and bowed, and slid back on all defence drills
Overall for you Leo I’d say just to slow down a little! Speed
is very important but there’s definitely value in slowing
down and really honing in on that technique, and using
your body to strike. Practicing moves in the mirror at home
can really help you understand your own body
composition and in turn which variations of movement add
up to the most powerful punch or kick!
I’m giving this advice as you’re moving up the ranks now
so will start to develop your own style which I’m looking
forward to seeing!
I also wanted to acknowledge your fantastic help in the
Saturdays class, you’re always on board to help out when
I need a hand and work amazingly with all the students,
younger and older.
Very well done Leo, keep it up!
Green Tag Test 28-3-20
Blue Tag Test (part) 21-5-20
Overall: Well done Leo! You showed great syllabus
knowledge and speed as usual. I realy enjoyed your yellow
senior weapon when you took down your Dad and your
technique finishers like your elbows and stamps.
I’d like to see you emphasise all your moves the way you
did your last moves and for you to slow down a little!
There’s definitely value in having speed but we don’t want
to lose the effectiveness or accuracy of the moves either.
Emphasising moves like your punch and scratch and
slowing down your blocks would really pay off. Especially
taking your time with any knife techniques is absolutely key
because one slip of the hand and you could lose a finger!
Also always remember to keep your goose close to your
chest. Overall great Leo, keep it up! Pil Sung!
